Two Awards Bagged back from AYLTLC 2017

    The UPC delegation won the Best Group Award and the Best Performance Award in the 6thAsian Youth Leaders Travel and Learning Camp 2017, Singapore.

    A contingentof sixteenstudents from UPC joined the 5 days’ camp,together with other nineteamsfrom different countries. They attendedthe opening ceremony, whereprofessors delivered speeches with the theme ofyouth’s duty and responsibility. They also spent time on the campus of National University of Singapore, placing themselves among the humanistic auspicesof learning. And in the following activities like theme travel and group discussion, they felt their passion and enthusiasmhad been lit up by other playerssparkling thoughts. Those experiences in that top university are clear benefits for them all.

    Participant Le Zeyun said:" Though what I have learnedhere has little concern withmy major, those experiences likeTed lecture, like dialogues with others will engrave in my memory and influence the way of doing things in my future life." Kong Lingge, another player, said:"I have got a deeper understanding of Singapore’s history and culture, and have made friends with students from other countries.In my opinion, its very importantthat we can broaden our vision and improve self-recognition in the context of cross-culturalcommunication."

    Sticking tothe concept of Readingten thousand books, Traveling ten thousand miles, the AYLTLC aims to helpinternational students reexamine what is happening in their own countries via the connection with Singapore, thus facilitatingthem to face challenges and grip opportunities in the new era. Numerous activities like academic Q&Aare held to enhance studentsperceptionof a multiracial, multicultural and multilingual Singapore society. Students are expected to enhance their capabilities of coordination andcollaboration, as well as buildingtheir leadership.
