Lu Zhenyin, the professor of the Department of Chinese of Konkuk University, was invited to visit the College of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum(East China) from January 5th to January 9th. After the in-depth exchanges between two sides, they signed the Memorandum of Understanding for the purpose of strengthening two-side cooperation in the respects of cosponsoring academic conference, promoting research cooperation and facilitating the mutual visits and communications between scholars and students.

On January 6th, the working talks was held between Professor Lu Zhenyin and the College of Liberal Arts. People attending this talks included Sun Daman, the deputy dean of the College of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum(East China), Wei Xuebao, the assistant to the director and the head of the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, and leaders of Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the Department of Russian and the Teaching and Research Office. After a brief introduction of both sides, they started to take the topics of interest into deep discussions and found some common grounds, thus laying a good foundation for the signing of the memorandum of understanding.

On January 6th, hosted by the College of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum(East China), a multilateral exchanges and discussions was held among the Department of Chinese of Konkuk University, the College of Liberal Arts and College of Marxism of China University of Petroleum(East China) and the College of Liberal Arts of Qingdao University, with the attendance of Sun Daman, the deputy dean of the College of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum(East China), Wei Xuebao, the assistant dean of the College of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum(East China), Zhang Ruitao, the director of Langya Culture Research Center of the College of Marxism of China University of Petroleum(East China), Wei Shaohua, the deputy dean of the College of Liberal Arts of Qingdao University, Wang Jinhui, the deputy director of East Asian Literature and Culture Research Center of Qingdao University and some principals from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, the Department of Russian and the Teaching and Research Office of China University of Petroleum(East China). At the meeting, all the parties presented their expertise and jointly sought the multilateral accord point and the point cut of cooperation.

On January 6th, Professor Lu Zhenyin was invited to give us an academic report on Present situation of Sinology in Korea.The report mainly introduced the situation from the following aspects: the difference between the concept of Sinology and the study of Chinese, the impact of Japanese Sinology on Korea Sinology, and Dominant view on study of Korean sinology, at the end of the report there’s corresponding evaluation. More than forty students and teachers from  Department of Chinese and Department of Ancient Chinese Literature attend the lecture. After the academic exchange, leading teachers of the Department of Chinese held an academic seminars to communicate with each other on their topics of common interest.

In the following days, vice professor Shen Zhuangjuan, Doctor Men Hongli from the Department of Chinese Language and Literature, Fan Liang, a teacher who taught Korean from Department of Russia, deepened their exchanges with Professor Lu Zhenyin to clarify our common ground of cooperation in detail.

They signed the The Memorandum of Understanding Between the Department of Chinese in College of Liberal Arts of China University of Petroleum and the Department of Chinese in Konkuk University Korea on January 9th. The signing ceremony was hosted by the vice director Sun Daman. The memorandum was signed by the representatives from both sides, namely Wei Xuebao and Lu Zhenyin. The memorandum settled down the bilateral consensus since June, 2014, in which both sides agreed to make a further cooperation on academic meetings, academic information communication and sharing, students and scholars visiting, academic programs and so on.
