Awards & Honors
Professor Yueqin Guo, Chairman of the Labor Union of the School of Foreign Studies, has won more than 30 awards and honors including “Qingdao University Teaching Master”, “Qingdao West Coast New District’s First Batch of Outstanding Young Talents”, “A Good Mentor in the Eyes of Graduate Students” and “Top Ten Mentor”, as well as 5 provincial government teaching achievement awards. She guided graduate students Hui Xie, Xin Ye, Xiaomei Yu, Xiao Gao, etc. to participate in speech competitions, translation competitions and contests of various levels, winning more than 30 awards:
· The project “The Construction and Application of ‘2+2+X’ Teaching System of Graduate English under CLIL” received the First Prize in the 2nd Provincial Teaching Achievement of Graduate Education (2014)
· The project “Construction of 1+1+N Curriculum System of Basic Foreign Language for Postgraduates under the Perspective of EAP” was recognized as a provincial quality course construction and practice and received the First Prize in the 8th Higher Education Teaching Achievement in Shandong Province (2018)
· The project “Reform and Exploration of College English with Graded Progress, Hierarchical Output, and an Integrated Four-dimensional Approach” received the Second Prize in the 9th Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards (Higher Education Group) of Shandong Province (2022)
· Special Prize for Instructor Guidance in the 2016 FLTRP Cup National English Speech Contest (Shandong Division) (2016)
· College Foreign Languages (Multilingual) with Hierarchical Cultivation, Directional Expansion, and Gradual Autonomy” won the Second Prize in the Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards of Shandong Province (2014)
· The project “Research and Practice of Constructing a Comprehensive College English Curriculum System” won the First Prize in the Provincial Teaching Achievement Awards of Shandong Province (2009)
· The project “Exploration of the Application of CLIL Model in College English Writing” won the First Prize for Excellent Scientific Research Achievements of the Shandong Association for Foreign Linguistics (2013)
· The project “Adaptability Studies of Discourse Markers in Translation” won the Third Prize for Excellent Social Science Achievements of Qingdao, awarded by the Qingdao Federation of Social Science (2011)
· The paper “A Visualized Analysis of Hotspots and Frontiers of Interpreting Teaching Studies in China and Abroad” won the Second Prize of the Excellent Paper Award of the 2022 Annual Conference of Shandong Association for Foreign Linguistics (2022)
· The Master’s Degree Thesis under the guidance of Guo Yueqin “Cognitive Causes and Coping Strategies of Disfluency in English-Chinese Consecutive Interpreting: A Report on the Interpretation of A Discussion on Shaping Balanced Crypto Regulation” was awarded the Excellent Master’s Thesis of UPC (2023)
