Integrate "Doing, Learning and Applying" to Create an Efficient Classroom

On May 17th, School of Foreign Studies invited Professor Zhang Wenzhong of Nankai University in building 517 discussion type classroom to illustrate the personalized teaching (personalized/individualized would) model. Teachers in the school without classes and all the students of English class 1901 participate in the teaching and observation. The observation class was presided over by Vice Dean Professor Wang Xinbo.

Before the class began, Professor Wang welcomed and thanked Professor Zhang for coming to the front line of teaching and introduced the personalized teaching. Professor Zhang and all the students of English class 1901 worked together to show the specific implementation steps and links of the individualized teaching mode of August 5. In two rounds of group presentations, students played the role of executive monitor, host, learning mate, time manager, presenter, interest observer, commentator and other roles to discuss, share, ask questions, communicate, and comment on their respective research topics. The whole process of doing, learning and using is integrated, and all teaching links are interlinked, harmonious and orderly. After the group presentation, Professor Zhang made wonderful comments on each student's performance. By creating a relaxed and harmonious classroom atmosphere, Professor Zhang encourages students to take an active part in classroom teaching by using heuristic methods. The students are deeply inspired and have gained a lot.

When it comes to experience about the classroom, Ma Huiyuan classmate said: The classroom teaching gained a lot. We not only form the unity cooperation spirit but also make students the master of the classroom from the class preparation, data collection to post finishing of the class. I hope to have a chance to continue this classroom model class in the future. The present teachers have expressed that they have realized the teaching concept of the unity of knowledge and practice and the importance of classroom teaching design from Professor Zhang's class.

Professor Wang commented on the theme of Enrich, Empower, Enable, and urged students to carry out more personalized research learning to empower and increase efficiency, so as to empower and increase energy. The classroom rang out warm applause, pulling down a successful curtain for the observation class.
