Work Performance Appraisal in SFS

On March 13, 2021, the School holds first work performance appraisal since its founding. Five teaching departments and six teaching auxiliary departments participate in the appraisal.

Zhang Yongning, secretary of Party Committee in School, presides over and puts forward requirements for this activity. He points that during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and in 2020, the school has made great achievements with the efforts of all teachers and students. On behalf of the School, he expresses his gratitude to all of them. Appraisal is a method to summarize the past and scheme for future. Work report and evaluation indicators will highlight four aspects: contributions, problems, goals and measures. All departments should have the courage and strength to analyze problems and scheme development goals and main measures.


 

On the basis of summing up the main work and contribution during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and 2020, each department analyzes the existing problems and reasons, as well as the bottleneck factors restricting the development, and actively puts forward their development goals and principal measures in 2021 and the 14th Five-Year Plan period.

 


By the vote of the judges, the top two of the teaching departments are Russian Language and Literature Department, English Language and Literature Department and Academic English Department (tied for the second place); and the top two of teaching assistant departments are School Office and Student Affairs Office.

There are four characteristics in this appraisal. First, it is closely combined with the democratic appraisal of Party members in all Party branches. Every department summarizes their achievements, problems, development goals and key measures on the basis of self-summary and self-evaluation of their faculty. Second, the report adheres to the problem- and goal-oriented, adopts the 5 + 2 + 5 mode to summarize the five key tasks during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and 2020, analyzes the two main problems and reasons, schemes five key tasks in 2021 and the 14th Five-Year Plan period, and focuses on the problems, goals and measures. Third, the appraisal highlights the contribution to Party building and to the development of the School. Fourth, it has a broad basis of public opinion and objective impartiality with extensive mass participation.

 

 

Dean Mao Haoran makes comments on the work report of each department. He points that all departments have done a good job during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and in 2020. The work report of each department focuses on problem analysis, development goals, key measures and key tasks, highlights high-level and heavyweight achievements, and dilutes the normalization work and low-level achievements. The analysis of the problem should pay less attention to the objective reasons, and the key measures should be clearer and more specific.

Zhang Yongning makes a summary and points out that the achievements of all departments are comprehensive, but the outstanding work is not excellent, and there are imbalance among departments; the transformation of cadres and teachers' ideas has a long way to go, and the courage of self-criticism is not enough; it is advisable for all departments to take the initiative to claim the tasks on the basis of School development goals; and what important is how to formulate and implement practical measures, make breakthroughs and promotion in key points.

This appraisal promotes the summary and introspection of the work in each department during the 13th Five-Year Plan period and 2020, and further clarifies the future development direction, objectives, paths and measures, which is conducive to all departments to actively integrate their own development into the overall situation of school development.
