On February 26, 2021, the School of the Foreign Studies held a general meeting of all cadres to deploy the work of the new semester. All the leaders, the directors, deputy directors, assistant directors and section-level cadres of all units attended the meeting.
Zhang Yongning, secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Foreign Studies, briefed the democratic party meeting of the leaders of in 2020, including preparation, the rectification towards the problems in 2019, and the rectification measures of the party committee’s leaders themselves. He pointed out four measures towards construction. First, the party construction. Guided by the spirit of the Fifth Plenary Session of the Nineteenth Central Committee and the spirit of General Secretary Xi's important discourse on education, we could better push the development of the school. Second, the construction of the faculty. Teachers who are party members should play a leading role in daily routine. Third, the construction of institution and special culture. We should implement the goal of Think Global, Act Locally , and establish a Reception Day System. Forth, the construction of ideological and political education which calls for the efforts of all the teachers. We aim to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the founding of CPC with excellent results. At last, Zhang deployed the work related to democratic evaluation of party members, work reporting and assessment.
Dean Mao Haoran summarized the work of last semester and during the holidays, pointing out that the School has made some new attempts in teaching and research, education of graduates, foreign affairs, laboratory construction, student party members cultivation and other work. All of those work has laid a good foundation for the further development of the School. This year marks the School’s Talent Training Quality Year. In one’s work report, we should broaden horizons and take bold reform measures. Also, enhance the overall awareness, and strengthen the sense of responsibility and contribution. As long as we seize the critical development period and opportunity, can we form the unique characteristics of the School and ensure the development quality.
Focusing on the work of the School in the new semester, four Vice Deans ,Wang Xinbo, Sun Daman, Han Shuqin, Guo Yueqin, and Deputy Secretary Zou Weizhong made detailed deployment and arrangements for internship practice, enrollment promotion, graduate education, scientific research and academic team, undergraduate teaching, student management and other work.
