On February 26th, the unveiling ceremony of the establishment of UPC’s Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) National Energy Humanities Research Center is held in SCO economic and trade cooperation demonstration zones in Qingdao. University Authorities and teachers as well as leaders from the Management Committee of China-SCO Demonstration Zone attend the opening ceremony.
At the unveiling ceremony, deputy-director Hao Guoxin first welcomes the UPC delegates, and then introduces the establishment process, construction status and development plan of the China-SCO Demonstration Zone. He emphasizes that its work is focused on energy development, international logistics, marine science and technology, modern agriculture, and other fields. He also points out that the cooperation with UPC in international energy, education and conferences will be further deepened with the Research Center as the starting point.
Vice President Zhang Lingling introduces UPC’s history, its energy characteristics, its fruitful achievements in personnel training, discipline construction, scientific research, and international cooperation, as well as the advantages of School of Foreign Studies. She says that the university will make full use of its strengths in talents, disciplines, and alumni to support the establishment of the Research Center. UPC will further strengthen the cooperation with the Management Committee in education, energy, science and technology, and participate in the development and construction of the Demonstration Zone with practical actions.

After the unveiling ceremony, the delegates visit the National Pavilion of the China-SCO Demonstration Zone, the Shanghai Cooperation Corridor and the Office of the Research Center in the Shanghai Cooperation National Hub.
