In the recent announcement of the 5th Renowned Teachers in Qingdao Universities by the Education Working Committee of Qingdao Municipal Party Committee, Professor Shi Yongjun of the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering of China University of Petroleum (East China), Professor Sun Daman of the School of Foreign Studies, and Professor Zheng Qiumei of the School of Computer Science and Technology were selected. Up to now, a total of 12 teachers in our school have been awarded the title.
Sun Daman, professor of Russian and master’s tutor in the School of Foreign Studies, is also the leader of the first-level discipline for foreign languages and literature. For many years, she has been engaging in the teaching of Russian for undergraduate and graduate students, and devoted herself to the teaching, research and translation activity of Russian literature and culture, and the teaching, research and translation of Russian in petroleum science and technology. She has published more than 40 academic papers in domestic and foreign journals such as Russian Literature, Contemporary Foreign Literature, and Lu Xun Research Monthly, ten of which are CSSCI journals. For the past five years, she has presided over 7 projects, including 1 National Social Science Fund Project and 3 provincial projects, participated in 2 National Social Science Fund Projects and 2 Humanities and Social Science Fund Projects of the Ministry of Education. She has published 9 books and teaching materials as first author, and also won more than 20 awards of teaching and scientific research. Professor Sun has been awarded as “the Ambassador of Friendship between Tajikistan and China”, the “Top Talent” of Qingdao West Coast new area, the “Renowned Teacher”, “Model Worker”, “Excellent Party member”, “Woman Pace-setter” and “Model of Teacher’s Morality”.
Renowned Teachers in Qingdao universities are selected every two years, with the aim to strengthen the construction of high-quality professional education talents and stimulate the enthusiasm and creativity of front-line teachers in colleges and universities, so as to encourage teachers to pay more attention to teaching. This time, a total of 50 people have been awarded the title.
