The opening ceremony of the 18th “Bocui Festival” of the School of Foreign Studies and Youth Master and PhD Forum were successfully held on November 19th, 2020. It was presided over by Professor Sun Daman, vice dean of the school. Nearly nearly 200 teachers and graduate students attended.
Firstly, Professor Mao gave a special lecture concerning serial topic mining and demonstration, start of new disciplines, and multimodal discourse analysis. Then, Professor Mao put forward a topic ---the highest level of human interaction---which means that people should give full considerations to others and try to see things from others’ point of view. Professor Mao Haoran’s lecture was popular, easy to understand, and interesting, answering the needs of the teachers and students. After the lecture, Professor Sun Daman gave a brief summary and made engagement and wishes.
The 18th “Bocui Festival” of the School of Foreign Studies will be a good platform for students to show themselves through lectures, class meetings, foreign language translation competitions and other academic activities, so as to improve the professional and academic ability of graduate students.
