On September 5th, 2020, School of Foreign Studies held a seminar on development. Zhang Yongning, Secretary of the School Party Committee, presided this seminar. Dean Mao Haoran, Vice Deans Wang Xinbo, Sun Daman, Han Shuqin and Guo Yueqin, Deputy Secretary of the School Party Committee Zou Weizhong, as well as Director of Professor Committee Xu Wanzhi attended the meeting.
In light of practical work, the participants have discussed 14 topics in depth and have reached a broad consensus. The topics included Subject Management, Teaching Management, Ideological and Political Construction, Cultural Construction and so on, such as Construction of Academic English Virtual Simulation Experimental Center of Teaching and Research, Construction of Energy Humanities Research Center with Countries along Belt and Road, Cultural Construction of the School, etc.
Dean Mao summarized the seminar, and proposed the basic development goals and the important tasks of the School. Zhang Yongning expressed that the seminar had a full discussion on the future development ideas, goals, tasks and measures of the School, and reached consensus and unified ideas. The leadership will work together to make better development of the School. Other participants expressed that they were more confident in the future of the School and would do their best to build and develop the School of Foreign Studies.
This seminar is conducive for the leadership to clarify the development strategy, clear the priorities, build broad consensus, and actively promote the work of the School.
