On January 21st, 2019, Zhang Yongning, Secretary of the Party Committee of the College of Arts, Han Shuqin, Deputy Dean of the College of Arts, and Guo Yueqin, head of the Postgraduate Foreign Language Teaching Department, went to the School of Foreign Languages of South China University of Technology for an exchange visit. Party Secretary Liu Yingsi, Deputy Dean Cai Jinting of the School, and Han Jinlong in charge of the college English teaching, Li Yingyuan in charge of the postgraduate English teaching attended the seminar.
After a brief introduction of the construction and development of our College, Party Secretary Zhang Yongning said, “Your school has accumulated unique experience on English teaching and general courses training based on the technology background of your university. Our college has made some achievements, but we are now facing bottlenecks in college construction and postgraduate English teaching. So your experience would surely enlighten our education teaching reform.”
Party Secretary Liu Yingsi extended his warm welcome for our visitors on behalf of the School of Foreign Languages of SCUT. Then he introduced the basic situation of the school in terms of faculty strength, major setup and discipline construction. He expressed the hope of further discussion and deeper exchanges with our College.
Afterwards the two sides conducted close exchanges on the reforms of college English teaching, postgraduate English teaching and the undergraduate general education curriculum. Then they exchanged opinions on MOC’s Action Project for Promoting Original Cultural Works in Colleges. The visit brings in new ideas on education and teaching reform for both sides.
