On June 21, teachers of the College of Arts attended Lectures given by Professor Yang Luxin for College English Classes 2018. The conference mainly centers on class teaching and qualitative research, digital solutions for foreign language teachers’ development in colleges, and the construction and application of national-level quality online open courses. Our teacher said they have appreciated the latest academic developments and broadened their horizon.

Theoretically, professor Yang presented her insights into the essence, characteristics,  questions and methods of quantitative and qualitative research. She even explained it at length with her thesis for master’s degree titled  Exploring Summery Writing by Introspection”, telling us how to do qualitative research.

And practically Prof. Yang put forward some teaching concepts such as overall planning, fixed education system and flexible teaching method, to be commanders of textbooks etc.. She gave concrete  advice on how to teach reading, grammar, writing, listening, etc. Her experience clearly shows how a university scholar's research has greatly upgraded teaching models for English teachers in primary and middle schools.

After the meeting, teachers of our college realized that teaching and researching can complement each other. This conference helps a lot to the teaching and research in the future.
