Four teachers from our College attended the 10th Anniversary Commemorative Meeting of MTI Education, hosted by Tongji University in Shanghai during April 14th to 16th in 2017.
Sun Daman (College Vice-Dean), Liu Yanqin (Director of Graduate Instruction Section), Chun Liu as well as Zhu Shan participated forums addressing issues such as MTI Education Construction, MTI Teacher Development, Base Construction of Translation Practice, Localization &Translation Technology and Talents Cultivation in Translation Management. They exchanged their opinions with other teachers about MTI teaching.
On April 14th a forum was organized centering on school-enterprise dialogue for market demand and talent cultivation. And on April 15th, members of MTI Teaching Guiding Committee as well as professors from some universities delivered keynote speeches in the opening ceremony.
Committee Director Huang Youyi and Vice-director Zhong Weihe reviewed the status quo of MTI education respectively. Professor Cui Qiliang, from University of International Business and Economics, reported first-time employment survey of MTI graduates. He proposed eight measures to existing problems. The team also listened to speeches given by professor Li Defeng from University of Macau, professor Li Mei from Tongji University and professor CuiQiliang from University of International Business and Economics.
