President Shan Honghong attended the Orientation of College of Arts in the company of school leaders to oversee new students and staff on September 5th. She inquired about the progress and details of the Orientation work. Party Secretary Zhang Yongning, vice dean Wang Xuedong and Zhang Juan Counselor of the 2016 freshmen class of College of Arts performed the reception.
President Shan humorously said“I’d like to see how many of the staff are boys this year”. Her kind words brought laughter to students.
President Shan also asked many questions related to new students. Besides, she expressed her encouragement and approval to new students who volunteered to help. Fang Xuejiao from class 1601 majoring in Russian said“I think she is an amiable and humorous president through the meeting with her this afternoon. She is very close to us and yet dignified, fully embodying the school spirit of positiveness. Her parent-like smile brings me expectations and fantasies towards university life”.
All the new students and their parents felt the warmth of a big family from the enthusiasm of faculty and students of College of Arts.
