The annual conference of Legal Education and Research of Law Society of Shandong Province on September 24was held in Qingdao, Shandong under sponsorship of the Legal Education and Research Association of Law Society and with the organization of the School of Law of Qingdao University. The theme of the conference is “Academic Ability and Practical Ability Training of Graduates of Law in the Backdrop of Reform in the Legal Profession”. Over thirty representatives from School of Law, Institute of Political Science and Law, School of Humanity and Law, Graduate Office and Social Science Administration Office of eighteen colleges and universities attended the meeting, as well as representatives from Qingdao Intermediate People’s Court in Shandong province, law firm Qingkai, law firm Deheng and law firm Chenggong in Shandong Province. Professor Wang Xuedong, associate dean of our college, was also invited to this meeting.
On the opening ceremony, Yao Feng, secretary of Commission for Discipline Inspection of Qingdao University of Science and Technology, president of Legal Education and Research Association of Law Society of Shandong Province,and professor Fang Xiaokun of Yantai University respectively delivered opening addresses.
Representatives attending the meeting participated in a heated discussion ranging from judicial reform and cultivation of graduates of law science, the cultivation of academic ability and practical ability of graduates of law science, to training mechanism and length of schooling of Juris Master and degree authorization and evaluation
Professor Wang Xuedong made a keynote speech ,combining specific methods of A-level master point construction of our university and characteristic cultivation of legum magister with the advantages of industry.
At closing ceremony, professor Fang Shaokun gave a full affirmation to positive exploration of characteristic cultivation of legum magister with the advantages of industry and profession, in his concluding remarksand all colleges and universities in Shandong Province attach greater importance to provincial exchanges and cooperation and even beyond.
