On May 19th at four o'clock in the afternoon, College of Arts held the Report meeting on the Fourth National Assessment of First-level Disciplines in Liberal Arts Building 358. Many persons attend the meeting and deputy dean Wang presides over the meeting. They are dean Wang Shuting , deputy dean Sun Daman and Chen Xiaoxin, members of Academic Degree Committee, director Lu Shenghu of Graduate Degree Office, teacher Liang Lin and responsible persons of individual disciplines of our college, Department of Graduate Education Management, Administrative Office and Student Affairs Office. （鲁守玉）
This meeting was divided into three parts. During the first part, Wang Xuedong, vice-president of College of the Art, illustrated the results of last disciplines evaluation and explained the division of the labor and cooperation. Wang Shuting, dean College of Art, was the prime principal of this Assessment. He said that the head of each disciplines would report the progress of the Assessment and attempted to learn from the advantages and insufficient of the whole efforts. Some experts on spot were also invited to propose corresponding advices. Then, the reports were officially started during the second part. At the beginning, the head of the ancient Chinese Literature reported the progress of the assessment. His report mainly consisted four parts, including the faculty construction, the quality of teaching and science research, social services and academic reputation, and the advantages and insufficient of the teaching. Finally, based on his report, all the attendees made a briefly discussion on the introduction and some exports on spot also put forward some suggestions. Consecutively, another two reports were made respectively by the heads of Law major and Foreign Language and Literature major. When all reports of all disciplines were delivered, all the attendees made another discussion on the whole assessment. Meanwhile, Lu husheng, director of the Office of Graduate School Degree, mad a review on the presentation materials and proposed some constructive advice on the following assessment.
At last, with a conclusively speech on the assessment report by Wang Shuting, Dean of the colleges of arts, the report meeting on the discipline assessment of colleges of Art came to the end. (杨晓)
